The material

Saving is a phase change.

Most trust problems in an interface are about state: is it saved, is it sending, did it fail? We make that physical. When you act, the surface turns to liquid metal. When the server confirms, it sets into obsidian, starting from the point you touched. If it fails, it drains away and nothing pretends it worked.
